He was our top scorer and Supporters Club player of the year in 2021/22.  He’s also a fantastic guy to have around the club, who has been instrumental this summer in getting everything ready for the new season.  An all round amazing guy off the ice, a huge points scorer on it, and the thorn in the side of our opposition.  Please welcome back Bobby Chamberlain to AIB MKL!

27 year old Bobby was born in Hull, and learned his hockey in the Hull junior system, with some spells in North America to develop his game.  His earlier senior career primarily centred around Hull teams, but includes over 80 EPIHL games for MKL where he picked up 69 points. 

Bob signed for MKL at the start of the aborted 2020/21 season, and appeared in the Streaming Series before being picked up by Nottingham Panthers for the Elite Series where he worked with MKL’s Tim Wallace.  Last season for AIB MKL he scored 36 goals and 78 points and was a huge influence on and off the ice.  Over the summer, Bob has been helping us get ready, organising our summer training and leading from the front in strength and conditioning working with other MKL players, and we are hugely grateful to him for this.

AIB MKL’s Tim Wallace has this to say about Bob’s return: “Bobby is one of those players that every coach would like to have on his team.  He works hard, is dedicated to his team and his teammates, and puts up significant points across the course of the season.  I coached Bobby in the Elite series, as well as playing together last year.  He has a great shot, and gets himself into space to allow him to take advantage of it.  Bobby has great maturity and I’m really pleased to have him in the team and to be working with him this year.”

Bobby himself is happy to be back, we asked him for a quote about the season ahead, “I’ve got unfinished business in MK, all I care about is winning. This club and fan base deserves trophies and I’m glad the majority of the lads have stayed and I know we can win with this group, let’s ave it. See u all soon “
