The Reinforcements
Let us introduce you to two – one returnee and one brand new player.
Returning to the line up is Ben Russell (who will now wear #55). Ben made 41 appearances for AIB MKL last year, picking up 1 goal and 6 assists. He joined us from Streatham, having previously made appearances for Peterborough, Manchester, MKL and some time in North America. Welcome back Ben and thank you for stepping in!
In a new addition to the line up, we welcome Ross Venus who joins us from Coventry Blaze. 26 year old Ross is an accomplished all round hockey player, having spent 10 seasons in the Elite League, and appeared for the GB team in a number of World Championship and Olympic Qualifier games. Last season he grabbed 15 goals and 22 assists for the Blaze making him one of the top Brit points scorers in the league. Ross will wear number #59.
AIB MKL Head Coach Lewis Clifford had this to say about Ben and Ross’s addition: “It’s great that Benny and Ross have agreed to join us for the upcoming games. Benny has been skating with us since we were able to return to the ice, and a few spots opened up so it suited both us and him to get him straight back in the fold. Ross is a great player who can play in all situations, he comes highly recommended but some of our players and having seen him skate last night I’m sure he will fit straight into our roster and be a welcome addition. Whilst our roster will look a little different to how we expected, we will be ready to go next Saturday and hopefully able to put on a great show for all the people who are watching us on the stream.”
Great to have you both with us for the Streaming Series. Tickets are available now at bit.ly/StreamSeriesTickets.
In other news, we’d like to confirm the outstanding shirt numbers for our team. Liam Stewart will wear #11 taking him back to the number he wore at Spokane Chiefs earlier in his career. Ed Knaggs will wear #5 and Edgars Bebris will wear #87.
