Milton Keynes Lightning is thrilled to announce a two way deal with the Coventry Blaze forward Nathan Ripley for the remainder of the 2023/24 season, completed before the league’s deadline on January 31st, 2024.
Ripley currently competes in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) with the Blaze where he will spend the majority of his time playing. When he joins MKL, he brings a wealth of experience and skill. Last season, he tallied 13 points, consisting of 5 goals and 8 assists, across 54 games. His journey in hockey began in Sheffield, transitioned through the Ontario Hockey Academy, returned to Sheffield, and ultimately led him to establish his reputation in Coventry with the Elite League.
Milton Keynes Lightning’s coach, Tim Wallace, expressed his excitement about Ripley’s addition to the team. “Nathan is a smart player with size and speed. He plays the right way and likes to get under peoples skin. We have had a ton of injuries this year so it will be nice to have him when Coventry sees fit. I am excited to see what he can bring offensively at this level after spending so much time in the Elite league.”
The signing of Ripley on a two-way contract is a significant boost for the Lightning, especially in light of the challenges faced with injuries this season. His proven track record in the EIHL and his distinctive playing style are expected to bring a new dynamic to the team’s performance on the ice.
Please welcome Nathan Ripley to MK Lightning. Nathan will wear the number 92 jersey.
