In common with other EIHL clubs, the Smith Recycling MK Lightning will be increasing security measures at all home fixtures in the coming season. Our partners, security experts All In Black Ltd, will be instrumental in this and from this season will also provide rinkside stewards for improved safety.

The club’s aim is to do everything we possibly can to ensure the safety of all supporters, players, team and league officials and arena staff. Supporters can play a vital part by arriving with plenty of time to spare before face-off and without bags where possible.

If you enter the rinkside area after the match has started, you will not be permitted to take your seat until a break in play, to avoid inconvenience to supporters who are already seated.

All supporters are asked to avoid bringing any bags – especially backpacks – to the arena unless it’s absolutely unavoidable. If you absolutely do need to bring a bag into the arena, it should be as small as possible and we would ask you to be prepared for it to be searched before entry.

While you’re at MKL matches if you have any concerns about any suspicious behaviour you see or unattended packages in the Arena please don’t hesitate to speak to one of the AIB stewards or Security team.

Food or drink purchased away from Planet Ice will not be allowed to be taken in unless you have a genuine medical requirement for it, in which case you may be asked for some form of evidence from your GP. Items not permitted will be retained for you to collect as you exit after the match.

Food and drink will be available before, during and after every match in the first floor Tag Taylor bar, the ground floor Fuel & Hydration Station, at concessions around the ice pad as well as at vending machines around the ice pad.

We want to reassure all MK Lightning supporters as well as fans of visiting teams that we are confident our increased security coverage will mean a safe, comfortable and totally enjoyable match night experience. If you have any concerns or questions please email Tom O’Connell, Operations Manager –

Let’s go Lightning!
