If it’s Tuesday then it must be time for more testimonial news – time for another exclusive reveal of more players who’ll be joining LEIGH JAMIESON to celebrate his testimonial on Saturday 20th August, in association with All In Black Group.
Today we can confirm that three true legends of the Lightning will lace up their skates again to honour Jaimo at his testimonial – three players whose jerseys have been raised to the rafters and have already had their own testimonial games!
Grant McPherson
Known to his teammates simply as “G”, he played over 500 games in LightNing colours, gaining a reputation as a quick and combative player who wouldn’t hesitate to stand up for his team when necessary – and holds the record for the most penalty minutes for any Lightning player!
Adam Carr
“Carsy” learned the game in his native north east but played the majority of his career in MK, wearing the coveted ‘C’ for eight of his 14 seasons here. A skilful playmaker as well as goal scorer, In just over 600 league games – more than any other Lightning player – he amassed 481 points. His outstanding goal eight seconds into overtime of our playoff home quarter final – as we said farewell to the ‘old’ Thunderdome – is still talked about a decade later!
Nick Poole
Calgary born Nick signed to the Lightning in our first season of 2002, remaining for 11 seasons as a player-coach, followed by two as Head Coach and one as General Manager. Over 464 league games he led the Lightning to three league titles and four playoff trophies, making MKL the most successful UK team outside the Elite League, and scoring more assists than any other MKLightning player.

On Saturday 20th August we’ll also welcome back three other well-known Lightning names back to take part in Jaimo’s testimonial from the bench!
Vito Rausa
Back in 2002 it was Vito who was partly to thank for launching the MK Lightning franchise and bringing semi-pro hockey back to Milton Keynes. Vito wasn’t just one of the ownership team during such a successful period, he was often seen on the ice during training sessions, keeping a VERY close eye on events, and the team’s progress remains close to his heart.
Michael Knights
Like Adam Carr, Michael Knights also learned the game in his native north east. He spent two seasons with the MK Kings in the late 90’s, returning to Milton Keynes with the Lightning in their inaugural season, playing for three seasons before finishing his career with the Thunder.
Phil Wooderson
Phil was another of the Lightning inaugural roster of 2002 who, over three seasons with us, wore the. Lack and gold during an incredibly successful period for the club. He finished his hockey career with the Thunder but returned to Lightning as Assistant Coach during the 2007-08 campaign.
Leigh Jamison’s testimonial takes place at 6pm on Saturday 20 August at Planet Ice in Milton Keynes, get your tickets now here!
