Statement from the MKL Supporters Club
First of all we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.
Being just about half way through the season, we would like to thank everybody who has contributed in any way to our fundraising we carry out throughout the season, whether that be through the own & loan scheme, 50/50, shirt raffle, Ollie’s Grid, Chuck a Duck, purchasing merchandise, being a Gold or regular SC member, online raffles etc etc.
With the support and generosity of our brilliant fans and also the hard work put in by our fundraisers, we have been in the very fortunate position to raise and donate a staggering sum of £100,919  to MKL so far this season, whilst the figure is vast we have also invested heavily in credit card readers for each and every one of our fundraisers, we have found this to be an absolute must for fundraising on match nights, we have also invested in the television screen above the match night stand which we use to promote and advertise our fundraising etc.
Dave Bunyan from the Supporters Club  “The Supporters Club work closely with Tom, Vicki and Jon, an example of this is making the signing of #37 Patrick Forsberg happen, a strong addition to the team and one that makes everybody involved with the Supporters Club extremely proud.
Whilst our main objective is to raise funds for MKL we have also tried to raise awareness and funds for several other causes, most notably being the £4,151.65 to the Royal British Legion, the £1,860 to Breast Cancer Now and also the donations of food etc to the local homeless shelter”.
Tom Roberts from MKL, Â “We’re so happy to have such a strong partnership between MKL and the Supporters’ Club. Â It’s by working together that we are able to make sure we are all aligned around the big things we want to achieve and Dave, the committee and all the volunteers are an absolutely essential part of the Club’s success. Â We feel that the collaboration has never been better – it’s great fun and highly rewarding to work together with the Supporter’s Club and we look forward to continuing this for years to come.
There will be a cheque presentation on the ice before puck drop at this Saturday’s game.
The sums raised are only possible with a lot of hard work put in behind the scenes but also the support, kindness and generosity of our wonderful fans, without you none of what has been achieved would of been at all possible, so a huge thank you to each and every one of you, thank you.
Once again thank you, from the Supporters Club committee.
