After a breakthrough season with MKL last year, he’s in hot demand so we are delighted that Milique Martelly has committed to MKL for 2023/24.  Milique joins us on a full MKL contract.

 

Still only 18, Milique started life as a roller hockey player, and first took to skates when he was just 18 months old.  He started playing competitive junior hockey around 8 years ago, and has developed quickly into one of the country’s top defenseman.

 

For MKL last year he made 45 appearances scoring 5 goals and 8 assists, and picked up a string of man-of-the-match awards for his impressive end to end play, speed, stickhandling and confidence.

 

MKL’s Tim Wallace had this to say about Milique’s return: “We are pleased to have Milique back for the 23-24 season. He has elevated his game through his work ethic and attention to detail. Malique is a great person and is eager to learn and pushes himself to get better. He has the potential to do great things as a hockey player and I am looking forward to propelling his game even further. The sky’s the limit for Malique and he will be a huge part of our D core this season.”

 

Milique had this to say about signing with MKL: “It’s great to be back after a great season last year and I can’t wait to get started. We have a lot to prove after last year.”
