And then there were just two…home games remaining in Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning debut Elite League season, as they welcome old foes Guildford Flames to MK Arena for the final time this season.

Guildford come to MK after winning their only game last weekend against fellow Patton Conference team Coventry Blaze, beating the Blaze 4-1 at the Spectrum in Surrey. The Flames currently occupy 6th in the table but could end the weekend as high as third or as low as seventh dependent on how results go in a tight mid table.

Lightning played just the one game last week as well after weather prevented the team arriving in Belfast to play the Giants on Saturday. On Sunday MK welcomed Fife Flyers to MK Arena for the first time this season and won 5-2 meaning they have beaten every Elite League side at home this season. Peter Russell’s side took on the Panthers on Wednesday, despite ending the first period 1-1 Lightning went on the lose against the Nottingham side.

Games between these two rivals are always entertaining as Lightning look to finish the season strongly against their old English Premier League foe.
