The Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning will feature in the very first televised match to be broadcast by Freesports TV as part of a new agreement with the Elite Ice Hockey League.

Head Coach Doug McKay’s team will travel to Ice Arena Wales on Sunday 16 September to face the Cardiff Devils – and hockey fans nationwide will be able to enjoy the clash in full on television.

The Planet Ice MK Arena will host the Freesports tv broadcast on Wednesday 14 November for the return of Pete Russell, travelling to Milton Keynes for the first time as Glasgow Clan Head Coach, as his new side faces the Lightning.

Freesports will also broadcast a comprehensive preview show at 8pm on Tuesday 4 September to build up to the new season.

The games form part of a 17 game broadcast package that also includes the Challenge Cup semi final and the Play Off Final.
