Milton Keynes Lightning are thrilled to announce the re-signing of defenseman Edward Knaggs for the 2024/25 season. Knaggs, who has been a pivotal part of the team’s defence, will be returning to the ice at Planet Ice MK Arena, bringing his skill and experience back to the Lightning for another competitive season.
Knaggsy, a native of Hemel Hempstead, has been an essential player for the Lightning. Last season, he played 52 games, contributing 23 assists and maintaining just 8 penalty minutes, showcasing his disciplined yet dynamic style of play. Knaggs’ journey with the Lightning has been marked by growth and resilience.
Reflecting on his re-signing, Ed said, “I’m ecstatic to be back in MK for another year. We have the best fans in the league, and the team is shaping up to be as competitive as ever. It was a no-brainer to re-sign for the upcoming season. Looking forward to getting started and seeing everyone again in September!”
MK Lightning Head Coach Tim Wallace expressed his excitement about Knaggs’ return: “Knaggsy is a great skater that makes plays that help us generate offence. He battled some injuries last year, and I expect he will come back flying next year. When he is at his best, he is beating guys up the ice and making the simple plays. When he plays hard and physical, he is one of the most valuable defencemen in the league. I am excited to see him in a Lightning jersey again as I know there is more we can get out of him.”
