The All in Black Community Foundation, in collaboration with MK Lightning and the MKL Supporters Club, is proud to announce a special charity event aimed at supporting the local homeless community this winter. This initiative aligns with our commitment to giving back to the community and helping those in need.
Aaron from All in Black said “It’s an amazing opportunity for AIB Group to be community sponsor and as such working alongside MKL and the supporters club on many projects across Milton Keynes. This year we are once again supporting the Milton Keynes homeless shelter, a charity that works tirelessly to provide food and supplies for those in need. In these trying times during the cost-of-living crisis homelessness is affecting a great deal of people and it is out privilege to help support them again. We ask that anyone who can, helps us in our collection next weekend.”
Dave from the MKL Supporters club said ” The Supporters Club are proud to be involved with raising awareness and the plight of the homeless in Milton Keynes. Last season was certainly an eye opener with the generosity and support shown by our wonderful fan base, the volume of items kindly donated was truly heart warming. Delivering the donated items to the shelter close to the train station was a memory that will live long with me personally, the gratitude and appreciation shown by the staff and users of the shelter was humbling to say the least, all of which was only possible due to the support and kindness of our fans. Times right now are hard for a lot of people but if you can donate any of the items on the list supplied by the shelter it would be extremely appreciated. ”
Tom from MK Lightning said “The generosity of our fans was humbling last year, and I’m thankful to be working with Aaron and Dave once more this year to try and give some help where we can. The shelter told us that their need for support is huge, and that this collection makes a very meaningful and positive impact on the people who use their services. We want to try and do what we can to help, as we know that life can, at times, be pretty difficult for a lot of people”
Christmas Charity Collection for the Homeless
In the spirit of the festive season, we are organising a charity collection for donations to the homeless. The collected items will be given to the UnityMK (formally The Winter Night Shelter), located just a stone’s throw away from our rink in Milton Keynes in the old bus shelter, directly aiding people in the local community who are most in need.
Match Day Collection – 16th December MKL vs Bees
We invite all supporters to bring their donations to the upcoming match against the Bees on 16th December. A dedicated collection point will be set up outside the rink, where donations can be directly placed into the All in Black van. This ensures a seamless process, allowing us to quickly deliver these much-needed items.
