Just three weeks after their debut top flight campaign ended, the Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning have already sold more season tickets than in the whole of last year’s summer break.

The nine-times trophy winners ended their first Elite League season with a home victory against the Fife Flyers last month in front of a capacity crowd.  Incoming Head Coach and General Manager Doug McKay has revealed his first two signings for next season; returning British defenceman James Griffin and Cardiff-born forward Adam Harding, who will transfer from the Dundee Stars.

Anticipation about the team’s prospects for their second crack at the Elite League has seen demand for season tickets soar, surpassing last summer’s level with almost five months of the break still to go.  Prices have been frozen from last year’s level, additional options for families and young adults introduced in response to demand, and supporters can now spread the cost with a monthly direct debit.

All these changes make it easier and more affordable than ever for fans to commit to the Lightning for a full season and get the best possible value for money for their ticket.

The Lightning’s Commercial Manager, Sarah Jane Smyth said,

“So many fans have told us how much they’ve enjoyed watching top flight ice hockey here in Milton Keynes.  We’ve listened and learned and all the new options are making season tickets more popular than ever.  This is the first time we’ve given our fans the chance to spread the cost of their ticket over such a long period and we’re delighted so many people are taking advantage of it!

We’re only a few weeks into the summer break but already we’ve sold more season tickets than ever before, and we also have our highest ever number of people buying their first ever season ticket. Fans are recognising more than ever the benefits of committing to a full season.”

Existing season ticket holders can also benefit from the extended repayment period and have until 5.00pm on Monday 30 April to reserve their seat from last season, for the 2018-19 season.

Holding a season ticket for the MK Lightning guarantees a preferred seat at the Planet Ice MK Arena for every home Elite League fixture next season for as little as £14.52 per adult, compared with last season’s match-by-match price of £18.00.

Season ticket application forms are available from the Planet Ice MK Arena or can be downloaded from the MK Lightning website at www.mk-lightning.co.uk/season-tickets
