Milton Keynes Lightning is thrilled to announce the re-signing of veteran defenceman Ross Green for his 13th season with the club. Ross, who recently celebrated his 500th game in an MKL jersey, will continue to contribute his exceptional skills and experience to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
Last year, Ross recorded a personal record of 23 points for MK Lightning, displaying his prowess on both ends of the ice. With 4 goals and 19 assists over 56 games, his contributions were instrumental in the team’s performances throughout the season.
Coach Tim Wallace expressed his enthusiasm about Ross Green’s return, stating, “Ross is a smart player with a heavy shot who has a lot of potential to be a great player in this league. When he is on his game, he has great poise and plays with an edge. Ross is well respected in the room and approaches the game the right way. He hates to lose and will be expected to take his game to the next level this season.”
Ross himself expressed his excitement about returning for another season with Milton Keynes Lightning. Reflecting on his achievements, he commented, “I’m really excited to be back playing for Milton Keynes for my 13th season. Last year was a season full of highs and lows, and playing my 500th game for the club was a real honour and a career goal of mine.”
Ross also acknowledged the positive impact Coach Tim had on his game, saying, “I learned a lot playing under Tim, and it was a style that I definitely wasn’t familiar with. But I felt I really benefited from it, being given more responsibility, and got to show a little more offensive side to my game.”
Speaking about the team’s aspirations for the upcoming season, Ross expressed his determination, stating, “As a team, we were gutted not to achieve the success that I know we were definitely capable of. I feel we have definitely underachieved for the last couple of years, but that drives us on to want to change that this season.”
Ross continued by praising the team’s management, saying, “Tim, Joe, and the organisation are doing a great job building a team around their philosophy. With the calibre of players they are recruiting and the right winning mentality, I’m sure we will be up there fighting for trophies and titles again this season. And I can’t wait to get started!”
Milton Keynes Lightning is excited to have Ross Green back on the team and looks forward to his continued contributions both on and off the ice.
