We are delighted to share with you the re-signing of Lewis Christie for his 13th season with the club.

During last season, Lewy played 47 games, scoring 4 goals and providing 14 assists, achieving a total of 18 points. This performance marked his highest scoring year so far and showed a new side to his game. 

Originally from Scotland, Lewy began his journey in professional ice hockey spending a couple of years in Dundee and Edinburgh. He later joined the Belfast team before ultimately finding his home with the MK Lightning. With extensive career experience, Lewy’s leadership qualities have greatly contributed to the team’s growth and success.

MK Lightning Head Coach Tim Wallace is delighted to have Lewy back, stating, “Lewy was one of our most reliable defensemen last year, and I’m happy to have him back. Even though he’s played hockey a long time, he improved a lot last year, and I still think he has more in the tank. He is a great leader and teammate and will be relied upon heavily throughout the year.”

Lewy himself shared his enthusiasm, saying, “I am buzzing to be back for my 13th year with the club! The team Timmy is putting together is looking strong, and I am looking forward to working together as a team to bring home some trophies!” 

Lewy is having a busy “off-season”, celebrating with his Testimonial on the 29th April, and getting married to Chloe in a couple of weeks time.

With Lewis Christie’s return, the D-lines are filling nicely with the experience needed to push for success in the upcoming 2023/24 season.
