8th March MK Lightning vs Peterborough Phantoms
In celebration of International Women’s Day, MK Lightning are proud to announce a special charity event aimed at supporting young people and adults across Milton Keynes manage their menstruation with dignity. This initiative aligns with our commitment to giving back to the community and helping those in need.
Charity Collection for Girl Pack
Girl Pack is an amazing UK-registered volunteer led charity working primarily in Milton Keynes. Â They support everyone’s period by providing free packs and period products to schools and community centres across MK and beyond – ensuring that everyone can stay healthy and fresh. Girl Pack are also proud sponsors of our very own Patrik Forsberg.
We invite all supporters to bring their donations to the upcoming match against the Peterborough Phantoms on Saturday 8th March. A dedicated collection point will be set up outside the rink, where donations can be directly placed into the Girl Pack car. This ensures a seamless process, allowing us to quickly deliver these much-needed items.
Requested Items
We’ve asked the charity what items are most needed:
- Packs of sanitary pads (night and day)
- Tampons (regular and super)
- Disposable feminine wipes
- Primark packs of knickers
If you want to help, but are not at the match, you can donate online here
If you are in need of a Period Pack you can find out where they are located here
And if you are an organisation or venue that would like to partner with Girl Pack in distributing their free packs, you can enquire here
