He’s fresh off the plane back from over 6 seasons building his skills in the US junior system and we’re delighted that he’s put pen to paper with AIB MK Lightning for the rest of the season. Please welcome Daniel Crowe!
18 year old Daniel was born in Newcastle and spent the early part of his career learning the game in the Sheffield development system. He then moved to North America in 2016, joining Iowa Wild before moving on to Washington Little Caps then Team Maryland. He then headed to Minnesota where he played for Shattuck St Mary’s (fun fact – NHL star Sidney Crosby also played for this school back in 2002/03!).
AIB MKL’s Tim Wallace has this to say about Daniel’s signing: “Daniel is a young man and brings with him a very high level of potential and will continue his development with us, and more importantly will contribute to our team by making competitive appearances. The time he has spent in North America has allowed him to play against quality opposition and he is bringing that experience back to the UK with him. As I was gathering references to see how he’d fit in, I was pleased to find that Daniel comes recommended and is ready to play his part in our organisation.”
Daniel is pleased to be joining us, and said: “I’m excited to have been given this opportunity to develop at MK and looking forward to playing my first hockey back in the UK after 6 years in North America.”
