UPDATE:  All but 1 player is up for own and loan.  So please email below to own and loan the player jersey.

Planning is well underway for the testimonial evening for Lightning captain Lewis Christie on Saturday 29 April and we can now exclusively reveal the first players who’ll be joining #66 for his big night!

Sponsored by Acute Ambulance and Medical Services, it promises to be one of the highlights of every Lightning fan’s season, and a great way to mark Lewey’s decade of service to the club.

MICHAEL FARN

D-man ‘Farny’ played for eight seasons in MK, part of the team that won Cup & Playoff double in his last season with us. After MK he signed at Streatham ending his career there as player-coach. He returned to MKL for two games last season and we know you’ll give him another huge welcome on 29th April.

MATT TOWALSKI

Matty joined Lightning in 2007 and played over 300 games for us. Long-standing Lightning fans will remember forward Matt’s gurning (usually with Muzzy Wales) behind whoever was being photographed receiving the Man of the Match beers!

ADAM CARR

Carsy” learned the game in his native north east but played the majority of his career in MK, wearing the coveted ‘C’ for eight of his 14 seasons here, and his shirt number was retired and hangs from the rafters reflecting his status in MK. His goal eight seconds into overtime of our playoff home quarter final – on the night we left the ‘old’ Thunderdome – is still talked about, over a decade later!  Not available for own nd loan.

LEIGH JAMIESON

The most recent MKL player to celebrate his testimonial, Jaimo brings over 500 league appearances for Lightning. His career also includes Elite experience and international honours at World Championships and Olympic qualifier levels. Leigh is MK born and raised and started his hockey career in the MK junior system playing for the Storm.

ROSS BOWERS

Rosco’ spent all but two seasons of his 20 year playing career in Milton Keynes, like Dwayne Newman having iced for the Kings before moving to MKL. Whilst longer-standing fans will remember his no-nonsense attitude on the ice, more recent supporters will have seen him on the bench as Assistant Coach.

TOM CARLON

Another hugely-experienced player, Tom’s career spans two decades – and shows no sign of slowing up with his recently announced signing for his hometown team, Telford Tigers. A popular figure with Lightning supporters, Tom is monitoring the development of one of the next generation of hockey players, as his son Louie learns the game.

GRANT MCPHERSON

Another player whose shirt was raised to the rafters, “G Man” played over 500 games in Lightning colours, gaining a reputation as a quick and combative player who wouldn’t hesitate to stand up for his team when necessary – and holds the record for the most penalty minutes for any Lightning player…but we wouldn’t have had him any other way!

All but one of these jerseys is up for own and loan.  See below.
