James Griffin is our first signing of 2022/23

Last night at the Supporters Club end of season awards we were thrilled to announce that our first signing of 2022/23 is defensive favourite James Griffin! 29 year old James was born in Oxford and developed through the Swindon junior system. He made his Elite League debut in 2010-11 for Coventry and spent the following 4 seasons there before moving to MK in the 2015-16 season.  Since then he has made over 280 league appearances including 30 in 2021-2022 when he picked up 2 goals and 9 assists, and a crucial 5 points in 10 playoff games. Ross Bowers steps down as MKL Assistant Coach

Ross Bowers has stepped down as MKL Assistant Coach. He joined the MKL coaching team at the start of the 2019/20 Season and has played a key role around the club.  We are hugely grateful for all he has done and wish him all the best. Planet Ice to Sponsor NIHL National in 3 year deal

The English Hockey Association (EIHA) and Planet Ice are delighted to announce that from the 2022/23 season the National Ice Hockey League, National Division will be sponsored by Planet Ice and will going forward be known as the Planet Ice National Ice Hockey League, National Division. NIHL National Owners Group Agree Key 2022/23 Season Structure

Last week the NIHL National Owners Group met to agree the key principles and structure of the 2022/23 NIHL National season.  We welcomed Bristol Pitbulls to the call, attending their first Owners Group meeting. The key points agreed were: The league will comprise 10 teams (following the addition of Bristol). Teams will play each other 3 times home and away, with no conferences The National Cup Competition will comprise the results of the first meetings of each team, home and away, with semi-finals and final to be played over two legs. NIHL FINAL FOUR TICKET DETAILS CONFIRMED – MKL BLOCK ON SALE WEDS 2nd MARCH AT 10AM

The National Ice Hockey League is pleased to confirm ticket prices and sale details for the season finale at Coventry on April 30 and May 1. Tickets are priced at £55 for adults, £41 for senior citizens and £27 for children and will be on sale from Wednesday March 2nd. Prior to general sales going live, on March 1st Planet Ice box office staff will contact those supporters who had their tickets from 2020's Finals held over to determine their requirements. SIGNING NEWS: Rounding out your 2021/22 All In Black MKL, Morgan Clarke-Pizzo joins our forward lines

Zaine McKenzie to leave All In Black MK Lightning

We’ve been talking with Zaine McKenzie for the last couple of weeks and we are sad to share that he will be leaving All In Black MK Lightning today.  He joined us at the start of the season and made 23 league appearances picking up a goal along the way.  He also made his international debut at U20s level. Commemoration of Remembrance Day has always been a huge part of the Milton Keynes Lightning season, and this year is no exception.  As a club, we are committed supporters of our armed forces, through our fundraising for the Royal British Legion, and our signature of the Armed Forces covenant.  None of this is possible without the amazing fundraising and support efforts of the Milton Keynes Lightning Supporters Club. Memorial Cup winner and “Terrific” player Adam Laishram joins AIB MK Lightning forward lines

We are delighted that Adam Laishram will join AIB Milton Keynes Lightning for the 2021/22 season.  Adam is a British passport holder, but having spent his career to date in Canada, he is classified as a non-British trained player. 24 year old Adam was born in Ashburn, Ontario, Canada has spent the last 4 years at St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia.  Prior to that he spent 4 years and made 225 appearances in the prestigious Ontario Hockey League for Belleville Bulls, Hamilton Bulldogs and Windsor Spitfires, picking up 91 points overall.
