Match Reports are brought to you in association with A2B Airport Transfers League topping Telford Tigers dealt a blow to Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning’s hopes of rising up the National Ice Hockey League at Planet Ice on Saturday. The turning point was probably Lightning’s inability [...]

James Griffin injury update

On Sunday James Griffin took a heavy collision to the boards and the Raiders player Jack Flynn.  All due credit to Jack for the concern he showed following the hit which was not malicious and drew no penalty.  Thanks to the Raiders physio who was quickly on the scene. James was helped from the ice and received treatment in the locker room for a lower leg injury.  Our medical staff were concerned enough that they advised James to attend A&E.  Xrays and examinations, fortunately, confirmed no broken bones but did identify a leg injury and a good deal of swelling. [...]

A2B Airport Transfers Match Report: Smith Recycling MKL 6 – 4 Raiders

Match Reports are brought to you in association with A2B Airport Transfers Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning broke a four game losing streak as they celebrated a 6-4 victory over Raiders at Planet Ice on Sunday. After a fairly even first two periods in which the two teams traded goals Lightning asserted their authority to take control of the third period with goals from Russ Cowley and Liam Stewart. A2B Airport Transfers Match Report: Leeds 4 – 1 Smith Recycling MKL

Match Reports are brought to you in association with A2B Airport Transfers It was not a night to remember when Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning returned to the Skydome at Coventry on Saturday for the first time since their English Premier League Play Off victory in 2017. That 7-2 triumph against Telford Tigers became a distant memory as Lightning went down 4-1 to Leeds Chiefs on a night which was capped by an ankle injury to key forward Robin Kovar who limped off with only a quarter hour of the game played. This was a home fixture for [...]

Robin Kovar hurt vs. Leeds

Last night's disappointing result vs. Leeds where we lost 4-1 in the game played at Coventry has come with some further bad news about the fitness of Robin Kovar.  During the game, Robin sustained an impact injury to his ankle and unfortunately this has caused some damage.  We are looking after Robin and will be fully supporting his rehabilitation which will need to take place off-ice for the foreseeable future.  As you can imagine, Robin is super-frustrated by this setback, and will be back playing as soon as he can.  He's in good spirits overall. We will release more news [...]
