Joe Wilson joins AIB MKL as Assistant Coach
Building out the All In Black MKL coaching team for 2022/23, we are delighted to welcome Joe Wilson as our Assistant Coach.  27 year old Joe had a playing career exclusively in Peterborough where he appeared at junior and NIHL2 level, before moving into coaching in 2017/18 as Assistant Coach of the Peterborough Phantoms NIHL 2 side. Joe then moved to Chelmsford Chieftains as Head Coach in a role which he held for nearly 4 seasons before moving on in March 2022.  Joe also plays a key role in junior coaching and development, working alongside former MK King [...]
Sam Russell signs for AIB MKL and is working hard to make his return
Our sixth signing of 2022/23 brings back a young All In Black MK Lightning stalwart with Sam Russell returning to his hometown club. Sam is working to get back to fitness following some surgery over the summer and is as dedicated and committed to his performance as ever! 21 year old Sam split his time between AIB MKL and Coventry last year, making 20 appearances for Lightning and 17 for the Blaze, a number of which came in the latter part of the season when he stepped up into their forward lines for a run of fixtures. Traditionally a defenceman, [...]

Callum Field returns for the next step in his development with AIB MKL for 2022/23
Following a great debut season for AIB MKL, we are delighted that Callum Field is returning to the squad for 2022/23 and is looking forward to taking the next step in his hockey development. Northampton born Callum turns 18 later in the summer. At 6 feet 5 inches tall, and 201lbs, he brings good size to his game, as well as pace and skill. He’ll be building on his offensive threat which produced 5 points in his first year at NIHL National level. He’s an absolute talent, combining speed, skill and a heart of gold.  Please welcome back Sean Norris to the 2022/23 Lightning team. 22 year old Sean was born in Ascot, and spent the early part of his career in the Bracknell junior system before spending a couple of seasons in the Czech republic at under 18 and under 20 level.  His UK breakthrough came as he moved into playing senior hockey for Slough Jets, picking up an impressive 35 goals and 79 points in just 24 games in the 2018/19 season, when he also made 19 appearances for MK Thunder [...]

Head Coach and General Manager Lewis Clifford leaves AIB MK Lightning
Lewis Clifford has left his position as AIB MK Lightning Head Coach and General Manager after 3 years in this role. Following the completion of the season, the club completed an organisational review and has decided that in the best interests of the club the Coaching and General Manager roles need to be restructured for the upcoming 2022/23 Season. James Griffin is our first signing of 2022/23
Last night at the Supporters Club end of season awards we were thrilled to announce that our first signing of 2022/23 is defensive favourite James Griffin! 29 year old James was born in Oxford and developed through the Swindon junior system. He made his Elite League debut in 2010-11 for Coventry and spent the following 4 seasons there before moving to MK in the 2015-16 season. Since then he has made over 280 league appearances including 30 in 2021-2022 when he picked up 2 goals and 9 assists, and a crucial 5 points in 10 playoff games. Ross Bowers steps down as MKL Assistant Coach
Ross Bowers has stepped down as MKL Assistant Coach. He joined the MKL coaching team at the start of the 2019/20 Season and has played a key role around the club. We are hugely grateful for all he has done and wish him all the best.
