Warmup Weekend – all the details

This weekend sees AIB MKL players taking part in their pre-season training camp, with fitness testing, team building and tactical preparation across the weekend, finishing with Sunday evening’s scrimmage with MK Thunder.   What’s a scrimmage? It means an informal, in-house practice game to help players get ready for real matches.  This means no refs, no real stoppages for faceoffs, and a focus on practice and intensity rather than all out competition. Off the back of Mack Stewart joining AIB MK Lightning last week on a two way contract, we are pleased to introduce a player development collaboration with Belfast Giants, which will see training and playing opportunities for AIB MKL players over this coming season. Elite League Prospect Mack Stewart joins AIB MKL on a two way contract

Top scorer and fan favourite Bobby Chamberlain is back with Lightning for 2022/23

He’s celebrating his testimonial on August 20th, and we’re celebrating that Leigh Jamieson is back in our squad for the 2022/23 season.  The 2019/20 Milton Keynes Lightning Defenceman of the Year brings over 500 league appearances for MKL as part of a career which also includes Elite experience and international honours at World Championships and Olympic qualifier levels. Russell Cowley leaves AIB MK Lightning
