He’s exciting.  He’s prolific.  He’s Sam Talbot and he’s back!

He was one of AIB MKL’s most exciting players last season, so we are thrilled that Sam Talbot is back in the lineup for 2022/23. 21 year old Sam spent the majority of his junior career in the Swindon system, with a season in the Ontario U18 system in 2017/18.  On his return from Canada he spent some time as part of MK Thunder, before moving onto Slough Jets where his prolific scoring talents really began to emerge.  After 99 points in 44 league games for the jets, he spent time in the 2019/20 season in the NIHL National with [...]

He’s back between the pipes.  Jordan Hedley returns to AIB MK Lightning for 2022/23

In a huge boost for AIB MK Lightning, Jordan Hedley is making his return to the club for the first time since 2017/18 after 4 seasons with Coventry Blaze in the Elite League.  Jordan will be fully committed to AIB MKL, and will only play for Blaze this season if they have injuries and need him to step in and start for them. Jordan is an experienced netminder, having played alongside Elite level players for a number of years, and been in the GB senior World Championships squad this year in Finland.  He played twice for MKL last year picking [...]

Consistency and stability as MKL hockey lifer Ross Green is back on the blue line

MKL’s Tim Wallace gave us his views on Ross:  “Ross Green is a MK guy who is great to have [...]

Brandon Stones leaves AIB MKL

Everyone at AIB Milton Keynes Lightning would like to wish Brandon Stones all the best as he moves on after being with us since the start of the 2019/20 season.     29 year old Nottingham born Brandon is one of the nicest, most genuine guys we have had around the club, and that’s why it’s difficult to say goodbye to him.  He made 32 appearances in a Lightning jersey, and was well recognised for the role he plays as a fantastic team player.  We are sad to see him go, but his ice time would have been very limited this [...]

He stepped into the breach last year when we really needed him and ended up sticking around and putting in some fantastic performances. That’s why we couldn’t be happier that Tyler Nixon has made it official, and signed as an AIB MKL player for 2022/23. 20 year old Tyler was born in Rotherham and has spent most of his developmental time in the Sheffield system with a couple of stints in Sutton and Leeds in the last few years.  He made his Lightning debut away to Sheffield early last season, picking up an assist in his first game.  He went [...]
