Signing News: Doucet and Hovell sign as cover
Gui Doucet signs as injury cover, plays this weekend Already missing 5 players on GB duty and with Sam Russell still working on his return it is a further blow that illness has forced Deivids Sarkanis to the sidelines for this weekend. As cover for Deivids we are delighted that Gui Doucet will be one again pulling on an MK jersey this weekend in our two matches. 36 year old Gui is Canadian and spent his career in the Canadian junior leagues, before moving to Europe and playing in the UK, France and Denmark. AIB MK Lightning Pride Jersey 2022/23 Season
Pride and AIB MK Lightning The EIHA announced earlier in the season that EIHA Pride week will run between 20th-29th January 2023. This year, we have been able to work closely with the Supporters Club to have our very first Pride Jersey. These will be available for Own and Loan at £135 each, and replicas will be available to purchase online and at the SC stand. Great Britain to play in MK in April 23
Great Britain will play international matches against Latvia and Hungary as part of their preparation for next year's World Championship. GB will face Latvia at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham on Saturday 22nd April (7pm), with the two sides meeting again in Coventry the following day, Sunday 23rd April (5:30pm). Britain face Hungary in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 25th April (7:30pm) and they'll go head-to-head at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham 24 hours later, Wednesday 26th April (7:30pm). Planet Ice NIHL National Division Finals Weekend Tickets Go On Sale Next Week
It’s the culmination of the season, and we’re delighted that tickets for finals weekend are now on sale. As usual the weekend will be held at Planet Ice Coventry and the dates for your diary are Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April 2023. With Bristol and Hull as two new teams to the league this year, we are anticipating a great atmosphere and hoping for great attendance across the weekend. MK Lightning vs Swindon Wildcats and the England World Cup Game 10th Dec
It’s brilliant news that England have qualified for the next round of the World Cup, which means that England’s next game now clashes with our home fixture against the Swindon Wildcats next Saturday evening at 7pm. We have been in talks with Planet Ice about the options for moving this fixture to an earlier face off time to avoid a clash, however this has not been possible due to another scheduled game at the rink before our ice slot. Sam Talbot to gain Elite experience in Coventry Blaze 2-way
So far this year we have been pleased with the progress we have been making in our talent development, having agreed our player development partnership at the start of the season with Belfast Giants. We’re now delighted to expand this further by agreeing a two-way deal with Coventry Blaze for Sam Talbot. Congratulations Sam! We are delighted that we can finally run Air the Bear as normal this year. We will "Air the Bear" at our home match on the 10th December 2022 vs Swindon Wildcats.
