Thank You and Goodbye: Tyler Nixon Bids Farewell to Milton Keynes Lightning

Milton Keynes Lightning announces today that Tyler Nixon aka “Shed” will not be returning for the upcoming 2023/24 season, after two successful seasons with the club.   Tyler played in over 70 games, demonstrating his commitment and contributing significantly to the team's success.  He showed fantastic dedication and determination in his play, and scored a goal!  He was never afraid to carry the puck and make a play, and we look forward to following Tyler’s development  and thank him for his hard work in a Lightning jersey.

MK Lightning announces today that Ben Russell will not be returning for the 23/24 season.   Ben grew up in the MK Junior System, playing for Storm before moving to Canada, USA and then coming back to the UK and signing for Lightning, Manchester Phoenix, Peterborough, Streatham and then Milton Keynes Lightning again.    He joined Lightning for the second time in 2019, playing a total of 128 games over 4 years in this period.   Ben also played for the GB U18 and U20 teams. MK Lightning is delighted to announce the re-signing of Mack Stewart for the upcoming 2023/24 season. This will mark Mack's second consecutive season with the team after signing on a 2-way contract with MKL and Belfast Giants last season. During the previous season, Mack showcased his  skills and talent on the ice. In his 37 games played for the Lightning, Mack scored 6 goals with 8 assists, resulting in a total of 14 points. MK Lightning announces today that Hallden Barnes-Garner will not be returning for the 23/24 season.   Hallden grew up in the MK Junior System, playing for Storm U16s, before moving onto Slough, Austria and then Okanagan before returning to Milton Keynes and joining Thunder in 2016.   He joined Lightning in 2019, playing a total of 140 games over 4 years.  This year was his highest scoring, 8 goals and 15 assists, totalling 23 points.  Hallden's efforts added to the teams depth and he was always ready to stand up for his team mates. Sam Russell signs for MK Lightning and can’t wait to return to action

Zaine McKenzie, made 53 appearances this season, as well as turning out for GB U20s.  Zaine scored 4 goals and 9 assists, and we would like to thank him for his hard work and effort during the season and wish him the best for the future.
