Match Report: AIB MKL 2-7 Telford Tigers – 26th March 2022
Newly crowned National Ice Hockey League champions Telford Tigers were in no mood to let up as they capitalised on a poor Milton Keynes Lightning performance to record a convincing 7-2 win at Planet Ice on Saturday. Having been declared champions following the loss by nearest challengers Swindon Wildcats’ to Basingstoke Bison the previous evening, Telford could have relaxed. However, they didn’t and Lightning felt the sharp end of coach Tom Watkins’ team that boasts a good crop of promising young players. A solitary Bobby Chamberlain goal was the only reward Milton Keynes Lightning returned from the long journey to Leeds Knights with as they went down 6-1 to end the weekend without any points. Match Report: AIB MKL 3-4 Leeds Knights – 12th March 2022
A poor first period, together with another outstanding performance from probably the best netminder in the National Ice Hockey League, denied Milton Keynes Lightning victory as they went down 4-3 to Leeds Knights at Planet Ice on Saturday. Milton Keynes Lightning suffered the heartbreak of a 5-4 penalty shoot-out loss after staging a dramatic comeback against National Ice Hockey League leaders Telford Tigers on Saturday. Match Report: Basingstoke Bison 1-5 AIB MKL – 23rd February 2022
Hockey can be a strange old game – just five days after being convincingly beaten by Basingstoke Bison at Planet Ice on Saturday, Milton Keynes Lightning redressed the balance with a 5-1win in Hampshire. Coach Lewis Clifford will have been delighted with the turn-around after the 8-4 loss at the weekend in which his team failed to spark. This time it was a different matter, despite having to come back from going a goal behind early in the second period in a game that saw the return from injury of Sean Norris. The opening 20 minutes saw Bison outshoot [...]
