Milton Keynes Lightning is thrilled to announce the signing of forward Carter Hamill for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Hamill joins the Lightning after an impressive season with the Leeds Knights, where he proved himself as a talented and dynamic player.
Hamill, a skilled forward, showcased his abilities throughout the previous season, recording a total of 23 points from 10 goals and 13 assists over 54 games with the Leeds Knights. Carter Hamill’s ice hockey journey began in his junior career with the Belfast Giants before making his mark with the Leeds Knights.
Head coach Tim Wallace expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Carter was on our radar early on last year. He has great speed and physicality with a decent skill set. I enjoyed our conversations over the summer, and I know he will come in ready to work.” The coaching staff is confident that Hamill’s attributes and abilities will complement the team’s dynamic playing style, further strengthening their roster for the upcoming season.
Carter himself is delighted about his move to Milton Keynes, expressing his excitement to join MK Lightning. In a statement, he said, “I am really excited to make the move to such a great club, organisation, and fan base. I’m looking forward to getting going in Milton Keynes. Carter will join MK Lightning on a two-way contract with Thunder.
