Our match on the 10th December 22 against Swindon Wildcats, was the All in Black MK Lightning annual Air the Bear match.
When All in Black Milton Keynes Lightning score their first goal, teddies are thrown onto the ice, and then collected and delivered to Milton Keynes Hospital children’s ward.
All teddies are kindly donated by fans, and are brand new with tags in a sealed bags.
Luckily Bobby Chamberlain scored first, and 301 bears were thrown onto the ice. (We had ample opportunity to throw then with a finishing score of 7-2)
These were then collected by some of the Storm Juniors, and bagged up.
The teddies then had an exciting ride in an Ambulance, supplied by our Medical partner, Acute Ambulance & Medical Services, before meeting some of the team at Milton Keynes Hospital.
Some players then visited some of the children and staff, and chatted to them, telling them about the team, and why they had 301 teddy bears!
Thank you to the players, and Jenny at the hospital, and Thank you for all your kind donations that have made this happen.
They will make a huge difference to some children this Christmas.
