Milton Keynes Lightning are thrilled to announce the re-signing of forward Rio Grinell-Parke for the 2024/25 season. Grinell-Parke, known for his speed and agility on the ice, is set to bring his dynamic play back to the MK Lightning, reinforcing the team’s competitive edge for the upcoming season.
Rio Grinell-Parke, a London native, has been a key player for the Lightning, making significant contributions with his exceptional speed, forechecking, and penalty-killing skills. Last season, he only played 27 games due to injury, but he scored 1 goal and 5 assists.Â
Expressing his enthusiasm about re-signing, Rio Grinell-Parke said, “I’m glad to be back at Milton Keynes for another season and playing in front of our amazing and very supportive fans. It wasn’t much of a difficult decision to make. MK is always an electrifying atmosphere and there’s no better place I’d rather be playing. With the successes of last season as a team, I’m hoping we can carry on those successes to next season and, personally, I hope to bring the attributes I possess and contribute to the team as much as I can.”
Grinell-Parke’s return is eagerly anticipated by the fans and the team. His speed and work ethic make him an invaluable asset, and his physical style of play ensures he is always a formidable presence on the ice.
MK Lightning Head Coach Tim Wallace shared his thoughts on Grinell-Parke’s re-signing: “Rio brings an element that we need to help us win hockey games. I hope that he can put in the work this summer and stay healthy throughout the year. If he can stay healthy I expect big things from Rio. He brings elite speed and work ethic. He plays physical and goes to the hard areas. I am excited to see what this year brings for Rio.”
Grinell-Parke has been with the Lightning for 5 seasons, with 2 at MK Thunder too, demonstrating his loyalty and commitment to the team. Fans can look forward to seeing him back on the ice, making key plays and driving the team forward.
The Milton Keynes Lightning are excited to welcome Rio Grinell-Parke back and are confident that his return will bolster the team’s performance in the 2024/25 season. Supporters can expect an action-packed season as the team builds on their previous successes and strives for new heights.
