It’s time to reveal another group of players who are joining Lewis Christie to mark his testimonial on 29th April – some names to really whet your appetite here, if this doesn’t get you rushing to book your tickets in advance we don’t know what will! Sponsored by Acute Ambulance & Medical Services, it promises to be a night not to be missed so save the date!

Luc Johnson – Own and Loan Already Gone

As well as being a time-served Milton Keynes hockey stalwart with Storm, Thunder and Lightning, MK-born Luc has captained both the Great Britain U18 and U20s – winning bronze medals at two successive World Junior Championships.  He played more than 100 games wearing Lightning’s colours and is about to complete his second season with our local rival’s Peterborough Phantoms.

Russell Cowley

One of the most experienced players in our league, Canadian-born Russ made 78 regular season appearances over 3 campaigns for Lightning and before that became a legend for Coventry Blaze after 15 seasons in their colours. He represented GB at U18, U20 and senior level with 1 bronze, 3 silver and 1 gold medal to his name. Welcome back to MK, Russ!

Glenn Billing

Romford-born Glenn joined MKL in summer 2015 and played more than 100 regular season games before departing for Peterborough Phantoms where he’s an alternate captain. Glenn learned his hockey in Romford and Swindon before a spell with the Okanagan Hockey Academy, won bronze with GB U18 and a coveted Gold at GB U20 level.

Sean Donaldson

One of Lewis’s childhood friends, they met when playing Ice Hockey. Sean has a history of playing for Edinburgh Capitals and most recently for Murrayfield Racers. Although Sean is no longer playing ice hockey at a competitive level, it was important for Lewis to have his childhood friend be a part of his testimonial.

Lewis Glasgow

Lewis’s best friend from school and fellow ice hockey player. Lewis has had history playing for the Edinburgh Capitals and Fife Flyers and was selected to play for Scotland U13 & Scotland U15’s. It’s been a while since Lewis has laced up his skates after retiring in 2012 but Lewy made sure that he had plenty of notice to get some practice in and be there for the main event.

Scott Greenan – Own and Loan Already Gone

Another one of Lewys child hood friends from Edinburgh. Scott has enjoyed seasons playing for Edinburgh Capitals and then went on to also be selected for Scotland U13’s and U15’s. Scott retired in 2014 and has supported Lewis in his hockey career driving down from Edinburgh to watch him play over the season. It took a bit of persuading, but he agreed to lace up his skates and play in Lewys testimonial.
