MK Lightning play a fast and physical sport, and safety is, of course, our top priority. Having the right support off the ice, readiness for if an emergency arises and access to key training and advice is game changing. Playing a key role in all these areas is our Official Medical Partner for this season, Acute Ambulance & Medical Services. We welcome them back as they continue their tremendous support for the club.
Acute Ambulance & Medical Services was established in 2006 and has grown to become the largest independent ambulance service in Buckinghamshire, supporting NHS Ambulance Trusts in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire Hampshire & Northamptonshire. They are also a leading supplier of ambulance services across the UK and provide ambulance services, event cover, training courses as well as maintaining their fleet of vehicles. They are fully registered with various regulatory bodies including the Care Quality Commission which demonstrates Acute Ambulance & Medical Services ongoing commitment to meeting the highest standards of care to patients. After their latest inspection A.A.M.S has achieved a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC.
Acute Ambulance & Medical Services provide a paramedic led ambulance crew for all MKL home matches to ensure that significant match injuries can be handled quickly and safely. This year they are extending this to provide equipment and advice to support out away games, continuing provision of an Automated Emergency Defibrillator in the rink, and training and advice.
We are also delighted that this year Acute Ambulance & Medical Services will be sponsoring Bobby Chamberlain # 10. They have a huge history of supporting MKL players in the past, and Bobby will be next to enjoy meeting the Acute Ambulance & Medical Services team, getting to know them and seeing what they do.
Tom Roberts from MKL had this to say: “We are delighted to have Acute Ambulance & Medical Services as our Official Medical Partner once more. They have shown that they set the bar for fantastic support, providing support for our players, staff and fans on a matchnight. You only need to spend a short period of time with Kieren and his team to understand that Acute Ambulance & Medical Services is a fantastic, motivated, well-run organisation which is playing a vital role in the community. We look forward to working with them.
Speaking about the partnership from his point of view, Acute Ambulance & Medical Services Founder and Managing Director Kieren Gibson had this to say “It is with heavy heart that A.A.M.S commit to a sixth season supporting MKL.
After researching various alternatives, we felt that sitting at home watching a group of B list celebrities prancing about in chiffon & spangly bits wasn’t for us – although there is Griff…that and the fact Tom threatened our children with telling them the Strictly results and then making them watch anyway tied to a chair with no access to a mobile device was too much for us to bare.
Our crews have been complaining for what feels like 20 years that it’s hotter than a jalapeños armpit at work, so we thought Lightning would be a cooler environment for some of the nicer ones to work at on a Saturday evening. Apparently, Noel Edmonds isn’t on the Telly Box anymore. And Bobby’s back….So there is THAT!” 😂
We’d like to thank Acute Ambulance and Medical Services for their continued support as a Platinum Partner.
