MKL Schools’ Enterprise Scheme Goes from strength to strength

Our popular Schools’ Enterprise Scheme has grown in popularity with every season we’ve run it – and we’re absolutely delighted that the 2016-17 saw the scheme’s most successful year on record.

The scheme sees schools in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas raise money for educational or recreational equipment when students promote a nominated MKL fixture to their family and friends, with tickets available at a discount.  Students learn real life business skills to promote the fixture and collect ticket money, then get to enjoy the game itself.  The money collected is split equally between the school and the Lightning.

In the 2016-17 season the Smith Recycling-backed MK Lightning welcomed 6,722 people to our matches as part of the Schools’ Enterprise Scheme, from 44 different schools.  In total, those schools shared £11,037 – an average of more than £250 for each school!

Thank you to every single one of those 44 schools who joined the Schools’ Enterprise Scheme!
