Wallace tells team: remember what you're capable of

Self belief is called for when the Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning contest their next home game this weekend, says Player-Coach Tim Wallace (Sat 23 February, 7pm, Planet Ice).

The Lightning played scintillating back-to-back fixtures against Elite League leaders the Cardiff Devils last weekend, pushing the reigning title holders all the way and prompting fans to raise the roof at home on Sunday.

When the Storm last came to Milton Keynes in December, the result was a 5-2 win for Lightning with defenceman Nelson Armstrong bagging a hat-trick on the night fellow D-man Ivan Šijan made his home debut.

Coach Wallace says the team need to remember what they’re capable of.  “It’s up to the guys in the room to believe in themselves - and do what it takes to get the win,” he commented.

“It’s always a tough, physical game when we face Manchester but if we can play a simple, responsible game we have a great opportunity for two points.”

The doors open at Planet Ice on Saturday at 6pm with the puck drop at 7pm.

Prior to that, ticket holders can enjoy drinks at special offer prices when they watch Six Nations rugby in the Tag Taylor Bar, with France vs Scotland on the big screens at 2.15pm followed by the unmissable clash of Wales vs England at 4.45pm. Happy hour prices apply for the first 60 minutes of each game!

Tickets for MK Lightning vs Manchester Storm will be on sale all day right through to face-off from the box office at Planet Ice, from the club’s website at mk-lightning.co.uk/tickets or by calling 01908 540020.
