Lightning add young British prospect Ferguson
Just two weeks after signing James Hounsome, the Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning have again added to their British contingent by signing Scottish forward Harry Ferguson.
19 year old Harry, from Elgin in north-east Scotland, moves from the Peterborough Phantoms NIHL1 team. The team currently sits a competitive third in the Britton Conference, where their most recent result was a 13-1 victory over Invicta Dynamos - Harry scoring one of the goals and no fewer than three assists.
Viewed as a rising talent in the game, Harry brings with him the experience of having trained and played with the Elite League Edinburgh Capitals for two seasons, whilst also representing the Caps’ SNL team.
A brief spell in New Zealand last year also saw him score 12 points in 14 fixtures for Botany Swarm.
This summer saw him sign for the Phantoms, but he was released by Coach Koulikov after that big win against the Dynamos.
Now the Lightning are happy to give Harry another opportunity to prove his worth and add to his experience at Elite League level. “He is young, hungry and determined to prove he’s worth taking a chance on,” said MKL’s Head Coach, Doug McKay. “He has definite potential and knows what’s needed at this level. We want to invest our time in him and make him a core player in our British contingent. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he can do for us!”
