Update: Lightning players to wear jerseys honouring Armistice centenary

Following on from our previous PR regarding our remembrance jersey, we would like to apologise for any confusion caused.

Remembrance day is an important part of history and something we respect very much as a club. As you may know, in recent years we have supported many charities and are, throughout the season, continuously supporting and giving back to many organisations.

Having seen the response to our previous PR we thought we should clarify our plans.

Our intention was to create a special remembrance Jersey not linked to any player but purely to remember all serving members of the forces past and present, and to allow the public to donate over a whole month online, to raise as much money as possible for RBL.

The collection would have then carried on during the match on the 10th November when other activities were organised to help raise funds.100% of the money raised from these initiatives would have been donated to the RBL.

100s of tickets have been also donated to Tickets for troops for both the 10th of November and many more games in support.

This strategy was discussed and agreed by the supporters club as we all genuinely believed that this would have raised more money than we did last year and at no point did we mean not to make a substantial donation.

We are terribly sorry that our good intentions were misunderstood and we are happy to donate 100% of the profits of all own and loan Jerseys to RBL instead of the above plan.

We are very sorry for any upset caused, and we of course appreciate all of your continued support.
