Lightning Thank MK Lightning Play Association
If you came to last Sunday’s Home game against the Sheffield Steelers you might have enjoyed the first period entertainment when four lucky supporters took part in a zorb football competition.
But it wouldn’t have been possible to stage that little competition at all without the help of the MK Play Association. The organisation has kindly agreed to provide the Smith Recycling MK Lightning with the zorb balls and other equipment free of charge for the current season.
Based at Kiln Farm, MKPA has been working with the community for over 45 years, providing support for the members of staff and volunteers that work with children and young people in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
MKPA’s base at Kiln Farm is owned by Lightning sponsors, the MK Community Foundation; since we formed the partnership with the Foundation, the Lightning are keen to lend our support to organisations that are helped by MKCF.
Matchnight host Jamie Stimpson said, ‘‘It’s great that the Milton Keynes Play Association has agreed to work with us, to help provide alternative entertainment on a matchnight. They do great things for the community of Milton Keynes and it’s nice to help recognise them. Please check out their website and give them a follow on social media.”
