MK Lightning Announces Partnership With Energie Fitness

The Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to be able to announce a new partnership with Energie Fitness that will boost the team’s preparations for matches in the 2018-19 Elite League season.

Based in the Kiln Farm area of Milton Keynes, Energie Fitness joins David Lloyd Leisure as one of the two  health and wellbeing centres which will be used by the players to maintain the high level of physical fitness necessary for competing in top flight ice hockey.

Head Coach Doug McKay and the full MKL roster will use the Energie Fitness facility twice a week for rigourous physical training programmes.

The brand new gym boasts a large range of high-end Precor fitness equipment including a cardio theatre, free weights up to 50kg and a range of resistance machines. The supportive team at énergie run around 50 classes a week suitable for everyone from absolute beginners to hardened athletes alike. These range from Pilates and Zumba through to outdoor boot camp training and intelligent ‘myzone’ heart rate monitored cycle and YARD classes.

Owner Rob Francis said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with the team here at Energie in Kiln Farm.  Obviously the demands of playing top level ice hockey mean the team have to maintain an extremely high level of fitness so we will work with them to make sure they are all at their peak every week when they play.”

The Energie Fitness logo will feature on every player’s helmet when they take to the ice, and they will also be the corporate sponsor of Lightning’s Canadian forward, David Norris.
